I don't live by the coast really, but my school has acquired a few students from a sister-school in New Orleans. I also heard that some people have moved to where I live, joined different schools, and plan to join my school next year. *shrug*
It's not just helicopters...From what I've heard, some people shoot at people driving by in an attempt to steal cars. I'm glad that I haven't had to go down there. *nod*
Holy crap! I forgot that CS lived down there! I'm glad that she's alright. ^_^ Whew! ^^;
As for the guy ranting in that video, he's upset about that death. Yes, it's awful that it happened, but he souldn't be blaming the rest of America for it. People are trying to help, but guess what? With all the chaos down there, it's hard to do stuff. Also, people should've evacuated when they were told to do so. The death toll would've been much lower had that been the case, and perhaps those who weren't rescued would've been saved had the able-bodied people left...*shrug* Then again, I don't live in Lousiana, so what would I know?
...Anyway, happy thoughts, everyone! xD

Then again, there was the Super Dome, Which was supposed to be the sfest place down there, and lotsa people got trapped inside, no fresh food or water, and the Bathrooms didn't work. People died in there, and ecoli spread................... They were told that'd be a safe spot........

I forgot about the Superdome...Hm...Unfortunately, everyone underestimated Hurricane Katrina until it actually hit Louisiana...
Another unfortunate event is that some people are taking advantage of this crisis. For example, the gouging of gas prices, and some people are pretending to be victims in order to get $2000 debit cards. Someone from Wisconsin got a hold of seven debit cards and claimed that it still wasn't enough for her...And she was some single stripper or something.

And the gas prices in michigan have been frozen just under $3.00. New Orleans was one of the major ports of shipping, and considering most of our world trade, or trade in general is done by sea, It'll be affectiong the rest of us soon enough............................................. It seems once Hurricane Kat hit, nobody showed as much interest in the Middle East! Ah well..... The Middle East was losing publuicity anyway......

Yes...Unfortunately, gas prices have been rising, but some stations where I live were charging as much as $6.00...;; That's just too much.

Lucky...Kouga-Kun.
I may not know the whole story about Hurricane Katrina, but what Mukuro-san said about them evacuating as soon as they should have is what I also agree in. To me, what happened in New Orleans is a great tragic problem, but people -are- trying to supply as much as they can for these poor people, My mother's donating money and things even though we live all the way in Maryland...Everyone's doing the best they can...
Only God can bring a miracle to these people now. ;.;
And about the prices of Gas...Like I said ^ there, You are lucky!! MD have some Gas prices of up to $3-5 bucks now. O.O So freaking wrong...But because of the sudden shut down of gasoline, no wonder prices are sky-rocketing... I just hope everything will get better soon.
