"It hurts a lot. Especially if it backfires on you." She sighed, wringing her damp hair. "We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning, right?"

"Yeah," he nodded in confirmation. "Bright n' early, so we might want to have Kikyou retreat a little early tonight, after she wows the crowd, ya?"

"Yeah that would be smart. Though I doubt she'd be able to sleep with all the excitement of beginning her pilgrimage." Cupping her hands together, a small wisp was heard as little balls of purple energy began flowing around her hands. Opening them, a small flame popped out which she held at a weary distance.

Shippou regarded her with mild fascination as he observed her hand's movements. Though they had known each other practically forever, she was a mage and he was a aerial tactician. Her field was still a mystery to him, no matter how much he'd seen her perform such spells.

"I decided to take the risk of being lit on fire." She said dryly, letting the flame dance in the air. She had done similar tricks for the village children except with water and sometimes even lightning. "It would be useful... if we could form attacks into one, ne?"

"Yeah..." Shippou trailed off thoughtfullu. "You know, that's not a bad idea..."

"It's been done before... but we'd have to think of a way to do it." Kanna said, looking at the ember and concentrated for a moment. The next, more purple bubbles seemed to surround it and the ember was replaced by a ball of water. "If we used your arial attacks and my magic it would be a lethal weapon-- Especially when I learn the more lethal attacks like casting death or demi."

"You mean...Like you transferring your spells to my blitzball?" Shippou inquired brightly. He may look stupid at times but he was pretty quick.

"Basically." Kanna nodded as she watched him quietly.

"Hnn," Shippou considered this a moment longer and nodded in approval. "That just might work. We'll have to try it out sometime."

"Sometime soon..." She trailed off. "Later we may not have the convenience to do it."

"Indeed," he nodded, in a rare burst of intelligence.

Kanna looked momentarily shocked as she regarded the blitzball captain quietly. That shock turned back to a blank expression once again however as she looked away. "I suppose we just wait now."
[what should we do about the summoning?? Skip and and go to the morning??]

"It would seem so," he agreed. "All that's left is the summoning, ya? Then in the morning, we start at last..."
Glancing sheepishly down at his stomach, he confessed; "I'm a little nervous, ya?"

Kanna took a deep breath as she looked away, towards where Kikyo was happily talking to some of the villagers. "I am too..."
