For those people that dont like kikyo because she's dead and should stay dead, Kikyo is not the only one, there is also kohaku. he was also killed by naraku and brought back to life for the purpose of evil. but i never hear people say they wish he was dead. he works for naraku and kikyo is trying to kill naraku.they were both manipulated by naraku and killed people most dear to them but we feel sorry for kohaku.

He has no free will. As long as that shard, that is keeping him alive, stays, or as long as Naraku is alive, Kohaku will have no will, and will be controlled by Naraku

btw. i'm not saying i dont like kohaku. i was just drawing comparisons. i have alot of free time to think about stuff like this. anyway, do you think kohaku is physically able to take out the jewel shard? because at first he was conscious at the time when he told naraku to erase his memories. if he could, he could have picked to kill himself instead of hurting others and his sister. i guess he was too scared, the poor kid. maybe he can't because naraku would have stopped him or something. but yeah, the difference is that kohaku is really controlled by naraku. but sometimes he does disobey naraku's orders and he will eventually regain his memories. so he has some free will even though he's careful about how he uses to ultimately destroy naraku.

I think Kohaku does have free will but only to a certain amount. Because he didn't kill Kagome or Rin like Naraku told him too and he also tried to take his own life because he was saddened by the evil he was doing and the crimes he had committed. But when it was said and done with Kohaku always ended up having to go back to Naraku because he ordered him to return.
