He cursed softly to himself, trying to stand up straighter as a footman opened the entrance curtain of their Kago [shoulder carriage]. "Mind your head dear..." Came a soft voice from behind him, and the child nodded accordingly, his ears perking forward. "Of course mother..." He murmured, stepping out upon the bronze rendered stair attached to the carriage's side, wincing slightly as his sensitive retinas were assaulted by the sudden presense of sunlight. "Mother, may... I ask why we're here?" He asked, gradually focusing his gaze on the village that lay before them... It was quaint enough to be sure, but nothing compared to their palace in the West... What could the royal family of the dog clan want to do with a place like this?
But before his curiousity could be appeased, they were approached by a fair congregation of villagers led by a man in a dark, azure hued kimono. A rather simple affair, if not given the man, who looked like he was born to an ox rather then a human... He looked strong, invulnerable, capable, and had an air of confidence about him that quite reminded the boy of his father. But again, his questions were to be held off, at least for the moment. "Murakami-sama... I'm honored," His mother greeted cordially, bowing at the waist as a handsome smile overtook her pale visage.
The man, seemingly under the calling of 'Murakami', grinned and bowed in turn, his spiky raven locks of hair falling alongside the dark lengths of his beard. "Oh no, the honor is mine my lady," He returned, moving back upright as his hands disappeared into his kimono sleeves. "If you'd be kind enough to follow me, I'll lead you to what you seek." With that, he tilted his head to one direction and turned around, heading for the heart of the village, where a shrine lay in resplendense all its own. But before she turned to follow, the lady knelt low, the fine trailings of her kimono pooling around her feet. "Inuyasha... My son, my treasure," She murmured softly, reaching up a hand and affectionately fondling his ear. "Can you play by yourself for a little while today?" The pup blinked and looked around at the village, at the sight of the other villagers becoming quite self-concious about his own appearence... He wasn't one of them. "Mother..." He began, fidgeting slightly. But then she lifted a finger to his lips silencing him. "Just for a little while... I'll send for you when I finish."
He bit his lower lip, fighting a sudden queasiness in his stomach as he gave a stiff nod. "My darling child..." She said, her face made ever the more beautiful by a slight widening of her smile. "I know it's hard... But just keep out of trouble... If you want, you can play in the Kago." With that, she got to her feet and delicately brushed off the imaginary dirt that had collected on her front skirt before turning around and following after the grouping of men headed into the temple. "... Feh," He muttered, crossing his arms and pouting slightly before skulking towards the opposite direction.
