When Kikyou shot Inuyasha in the beginning, was she trying to seal him or kill him? This confused me because someone(was it kagome?) said she died following him in death ( i think, did she actually say that or is that what something that inu-kik supporters use as evidence?), but since it was a sealing arrow, he didnt die, correct? If that was the case, then she kinda outsmarted herself... I'm pretty sure that she was sealing him to the tree because she couldn't bring herself to kill Inuyasha but she couldnt let him use the jewel and hurt other people.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't she surprised to see InuYasha alive. Like in the "omg, didn't I kill you?" sense? I thought she shot to kill, anyway. But I'm probably wrong. 'Cause how would it have turned out that he was merely sealed if she meant to kill? I'd say Goshinboku was what sealed Inu rather than killed, but I doubt that tree was sacred before Inu was sealed there. My thoughts contradict each other x3... Meh. I'd have to re-watch it to better determine her motives.

hmm i think she was surprised because the seal was removed. Inuyasha couldnt remove it and it wouldnt make sense that someone would want to remove it. (as stated in ep 147-148, the seal is removed by someone who has the desire of waking up the sealed demon) After seeing ep. 15, Kikyou herself says that she sealed inuyasha. and if she said that she followed him in death, but following him in his "non-aliveness" because he was stuck to a tree. did i just answer my own question? see i dont even know anymore.....

Well, what I believe is that Kikyo purposely sealed Inuyasha to the Goshinboku tree. I think she Knew what she was doing. I believe that when she saw Inuyasha running right up to that tree, she purposely shot her Sealing arrow which sealed him to that tree. I think even tho' "He" betrayed her, she still loved him enough to not kill him. Didn't she say that whenever a demon is pinned to that tree, its flesh would not dissolve? Meaning that even -If- Kikyo had killed him, his flesh would not have deteriorated like it originally would do ne?
Think about this also; on ep. 147-148, wouldn't Inuyasha have killed "her" too? He said that "she" betrayed him...so wouldn't he have killed "her" first then go for the jewel? It just shows that the two still cared for one another even if they "betrayed" each other...
This just shows that the love between the two is still somewhat there...just somewhat tho'...Kikeh is still Sesshy's gurl!! So boo, Inuyasha!! and Yeah, Sesshomaru!! ^^

Well,Inuyasha,i think, said Kikyo killed him when she pinned him to a tree. Even if she just wanted to put him to sleep for eternity, wouldn't that be the closest thing to death? So I guess Inuyasha was sleeping, but he felt he was dead .

True, but that was Inuyasha's broken-hearted, "betrayed", angry, and sad voice talking...You know how Inuyasha is right? Always saying things he doesn't really mean...so even if it -was- somewhat called his "death" he doesn't really imply it to the Real defintion. For if he -Did- then he'd be thinking to himself that Kikyo really -didn't- love him at all.
But this is just -My- opinion so don't take my word for it...^^

I think pretty much the same thing as Tamashii_No_Miko. Because if Kikyo wanted to kill Inuyasha, she would have made sure that he couldn't be revived considering how powerful she was back then. And ya, I know that Inuyasha keeps saying that Kikyo killed but technically that can't be true because wouldn't that mean that Kagome couldn't have woken him up just by removing the arrow in his chest.
