Her sandals clapped against the stone floor as she happily talked away with one of her friends. It was the last day of highschool, the last day before summer vacation would finally begin. Just a few more hours and then all the highschool teens would be running out the highscool doors, screaming about their newfound and well-deserved freedom.
"Yeah... and I'm going to go to this camp called 'Camp Shikon.' I think Kagura might be going too, and I'm praying Naraku doesn't go, but you know he likes to be the difficult type." Kanna Onigumo said lightly as the girls made their way down the hallway. "I hear a lot of kids from different schools are going too, and it's supposed to be really a blast since it's sleepaway and all... But I dunno... You know how some sleepaway camps are."

"Yeah, I know." Higurashi Kikyou replied, tossing her backpack on her back. The afternoon sun was high into the sky so the young lady put her sunglasses on, in order to protect her sensitive eyes from the strong rays of light. "I think I might be going as well... I don't really have anything interesting to do during summer, so..."

"Really?" Kanna asked as she raised an eyebrow while she chewed on her pen cap. "Well, that's a relief to know at least one person I know is going."

{Nifty Idea.}
Senshi Sesshoumaru grinned good naturedly as he jumped off the school bus steps and landed on the hard pavement in front of his house. He'd just come home from the last day at Goshinboku Academy, the prestigeous prep school he attended.
His spindly fingers repeatedly mashed the skip button on his walkman til it stopped on the track he wanted. One of his favorite songs began to play as he fished out his house key from his bookbag.
Unlocking the front door, he threw his bookbag down and and wandered into the kitchen where his older sister and younger brother were. Tenaka was in college already and Inu-Yasha wasn't feeling good, so he had to miss the last day of school.
"Hey," he greeted them with a smile, throwing open the refridgerator and grabbing a soda. Popping the top, he threw back his head and chugged it. "Good stuff..." he muttered under his breath, crunching and tossing the can away.
He began to run up the stairs but paused half way; "I'll put your magazine on your bed," he called to Inu-Yasha, who just grunted in response, too engrossed on what was on teevee.
Doing what he promised, he fell back onto his own bed. In just an hour so, he'd be getting his things and heading to Camp Shikon, a pretty famous summer camp just outside of Midoriko City. His stuff was already packed; hell, it had been for days.
He wasn't going to be a camper, however. He'd signed up months ago to be one of the counselors, and luckily, as he was one of the first to apply, he got the job, despite his age.

[Why thank yuh Sadi! ^^]
As the last bell of the day rang, meaning that school was officially now over, Kanna gave a sigh of relief as they walked out of the school building and into the fresh air. "Are you going to that party tonight Kikyo? You know, the one Ayame's throwing? I hear all of these kids from different schools that she knows are going to be there and there'll be A LOT of single guys there..." Her tone ended almost like she was singing it with happiness.

"Hai." Kikyou nodded, letting loose a soft giggle. "It's good to know that I won't be there all by myself either... Especially since I'm not a very 'sociable' person..." She sadly cast her eyes downwards for a second, relieved to know that her friend would not see her doing so. "As for the party... Well, I odn't know... I mean, it would be rude of me not to go, cuz Ayame personally invited me, but... Parties are not really my place..."

Sesshoumaru decided the pass the time by reorganizing his cd collection in the order of the amount of times he would probably be listening to them while at Camp Shikon.
The Exies...Wheatus...Something Corporate...The Verve Pipe...D.A.I...Sugar Ray...Vertical Horizon...
Those were just the tip of the ice-burg. In fact, he was rather amazed to find that doing so ate up a whole half an hour of his time.

"I suppose..." Kanna would say quietly, "But you might meet the man of your dreams there... Or, at Camp Shikon at least. You never know... Besides," She clapped her hands together, facing her friend, "We get to see all of our friends before we're shipped off to the middle of nowhere!!"

Sesshoumaru spent his remaining half an hour taking a quick shower, changing his clothes, and grabbing another soda before lugging his things down the stairs and loading them in his dark blue mustang convertable.
He jogged back into the house, gave his sister a quick kiss on the cheek, tusseled his younger brother's hair, and left a quick good-bye message for their parents.
As he was going to be one of the counselors, he had to go a whole day early, something that while he resented, he was excited about. At least he'd get some extra 'getting-used-to' time that the campers themselves weren't going to get.
Turning his cell phone on, he stuck it in the drink holder, closed he door, turned his key in the ignition, slowly backed out of the driveway, and put the pedal to the medal.
Camp Shikon could have never been less prepared for one such as himself...

"Meet the man of my dreams?" Kikyou raised an eyebrow at Kanna, laughing softly at that statement and also at her friend's gesture. "You've gotta be kidding me... But I agree with you, at least on the meeting our friends part. If we're lucky, maybe we can convince one or two of them to join us."

Kanna put a hand behind her head as she sweatdropped, "Weeeeeeeeeeell.... You really never know Kikyo... As for me though... I predict..." She closed her eyes, placing her index fingers on her temples as she badly imitated what a fortune teller would do, "I will come home empty handed." A flat look appeared on her face, "Oh how fun that'll be..." She said sarcastically.

{*Shippou* Bwah. Eat that.}
Sesshoumaru raced through town, but not so fast as he'd lost all control over the vehicle. In fact, when two young women stepped out from beneath a parked car, he nearly ran right into them. Screeching on the brakes as fast as he could, the car spun sideways.
Angrily, he unrolled the window. Craning his head out, he found that he recognized the shorter of the two. "Yo! Kanna! You and your little friend mind watching where you're going?"

Kanna blinked a few times as she glared at the person she recognized to be Sesshomaru. "Oi dorkwad!! Why don't you slow down!!" Her glare would disappear as she would wave cheerfully, trotting up to the side of his car with Kikyo at her side, "Why in such a rush today? It's the END OF SCHOOL!! Or..." A devilish smirk appeared on her face, "Are you late for once?"

"Then I guess we'll both be coming back home empty-handed, my friend..." She placed on hand on Kanna's shoulder and shook her head pitifully. "Ah well, we can always burn our money on icecream and chocolates afterwards and celebrate how sad we... what?!?" She jumped aside, barely avoiding being hit by the screeching car. Breathing heavily, she glared at the driver and complained. "And why don't you watch where you're going?!?! If you wanna get killed, don't drag us along!"

"Nah," he chuckled, returning her devilish grin, "In a hurry, yes. Late, no. Sorry, you still haven't won that bet..." he referred to a bet they'd had running nearly since they'd met way back in the eighth grade; whether or not Sesshoumaru would ever be late. "I have to hurry out to Camp Shikon..."
He then glared over his sunglasses at the raven-haired young woman accompanying Kanna. "Sure got a lot of spunk," he said smoothly, "For one I could have just as easily hit rather than slowed down,"
