Shippou and Kirara were already seated comfortably in a booth. Well, Kirara was comfortable; oblivious to Shippou's discomfort, being so close to the one he...No. He didn't love her. He had to get over it. Kirara/Shippou was no more. And never to be again.

"Sorry we're..." Kanna began with the same blank expression, what she and her family called her 'business look', only to catch in her sight the one person she feared would be here...
Kirara... This night was going to end ugly in some way.
"...late..." She mentally slapped herself upon hearing a low growl emanate from behind her. Giving her brother a warning look, she sighed and sat down on the opposite side, finding interest in the bar quite a distance away.
Her next words were quiet, almost as if she really wasn't in the mood to be so formal. "Good to see you again Kirara... You too Shippo."

Shippou regarded her with mild curiosity, something rather akin to concern flashing within the deep depths of his eyes. At last, he glanced at Kirara and nodded, an unspoken agreement for him to greet Kanna and her brother. "Good to see you as well, Kanna." He responded quite mildly, though his insides were quite wild. "Please, have a seat." He stood from his side of the booth, taking her hand and guiding her a few steps to the opposite side, so she would sit.

Kanna looked at Shippo with a mildly confused expression. Slowly taking his hand, she sat down and uttered a quiet thank you before regaining herself.

[Bah! ;;] Glancing at the seething Naraku from the corner of her eyes, Kanna gave a soft sigh before gently taking the napkin with her frail looking hands and placing it on her lap. Looking up at the two across from her, she spoke quietly in her soft, almost soothing voice, her expression never once showing anything but a blank-ness. "It befuddles me... Is there something urgent that you would call a business dinner with us for? Or is this to... sever ties?"

"Well," Kirara crossed her legs and leaned back, intwining her fingers and cupping her knee. "It all depends, really. Do you find our alliance profitible?"

Kanna's greyish eyes widened in shock as she stared at Kirara almost with disbelief. "Form an alliance...?" Her hands clenched into fists as she heard the clatter of silver ware, wearily tearing her gaze away from the woman in front of her to her brother who was now towering above the three of them.
She indeed knew that her brother would rather die before this happened so she gently touched his arm and nodded for him to leave. When he was off, she gave a weak smile to the two but not before placing her napkin on the table. "I'm afraid that wouldn't be possible at the moment... You see my.. Well my family is still quite bitter after what happened a while ago and forming this alliance would not be the best idea at the moment. I apologize but maybe next time we will be able to." And with that said, she stood up, gave them a quick bow and went off after her brother.

"I..." Kirara trailed off, casting her eyes down forlornly at the table. "Wasn't referring to a contract, exactly..." She finished sadly. Standing up, she placed the cloth napkin she had folded in her lap onto the clean fish before her and fled to the bathroom, her make-up looking suspiciously runny.
Shippou sighed and leaned back. Well. That had sucked. Waiting for Kirara to return was the gentlemanly thing to do, but he didn't exactly feel like staying at the table by himself. So he removed his jacket and wandered over to the bar, where he could keep half an eye on the restroom door.

Kanna stormed after her brother who was fuming near the buffet table. Apparently he wasn't too keen on leaving her completely alone at the table for he was glaring daggers the whole time as she walked over to him. Placing her hands on her hips, she began to push him with one hand away from the other customers.
"I can't believe you!" She hissed, a full fledged fury emanating from her facial expression. "Don't you have any decency?! You could have at least excused yourself from the table instead of glaring at her!" Running a hand through her hair, she let out a long sigh which calmed her nerves down somewhat. "You're going to apologize to her..."
Naraku protested, for he would not take this command from his younger sister. "I refuse to even come five feet near the two of them!"
"You're such a dooshbag, you know that? Uncle O. would be furious if a little bird told him what happened." She glared, mentally grinning when he gave in and began to walk back to the table, sitting down like a defeated child. "He's so difficult..."

"Of course," She had been about to add, "I'm not exactly referring to a...Formal alliance. I may seem the fool, but I'm not exactly what you would call stupid, either. I am well aware of your family's grudge against ours and I must confess, mine still resents yours. But I was hoping we could...Get together and discuss this pointless bickering, which threatens to destroy both our markets..."
Kirara leaned against the counter in the posh restroom, carefully reapplying her makeup and forcing on a smile. When at last she was ready, she checked her purse and quietly slipped back out into the gentle murmur of the restraunt. Shippou of course, spotted her at once and polished off the last of his drink before standing and making his way over to her.

Kanna looked over towards her brother, giving a harsh shove in the ribs when she noticed Shippo and Kirara were heading back to the table. Grumbling, Naraku stood up and waited for the two to come back as Kanna remained seated, finding interest in one of the dancing couples. "Erhm..." Naraku began when Kirara was standing in front of him, looking over towards his younger sister for assistance but realizing that she would be of no service. "What I mean is..."
Kanna glanced over now and gave a soft sigh. Standing up, she went behind him and leaning to her left, gave a small, almost nervous smile. "What he means is that he is sincerely sorry for being an extremely rude and nasty person and he asks from the bottom of his corrupt and cold heart if you would forgive him for acting the way he did." Giving a hard pat on the back, she sat back down and resumed watching the couple.
Naraku gave a stiff nod. "What my agitating sister said... I'm... sor... I'm sor... Well what I mean is..." Naraku coughed a few times and muttered. "Sorry."

Kirara flicked at an area of concentrated moisture and lowered her gaze to the floor. "It's quite alright," She tried to assure him in what she was hoping would come out as a confident voice, but what only came out was troubled and weary.
And all Shippou could do was bob his head once or twice in silence affirmation of what she had said.

Naraku shifted uncomfortably, for he was utterly embarassed for having to apologize over something that he wasn't concerned over. "Right then..." He uttered, sitting back down next to his pale sister who was drumming her fingers absentmindedly on the table, completely engrossed with the dancing couple. "So you were talking about an agreement..."
He started, giving Kanna a harsh shove in the side, making the poor girl yip. "Huh?! Oh... Oh yeah! Agreement...." The word passed through her lips rather smoothly as she tried to remember what they were talking about. "So Kirara what did you have in mind may I ask?"

"Of course," She began, closing her eyes a moment to bring to mind the little number she had prepared. "I'm not exactly referring to a...Formal alliance. I may seem the fool, but I'm not exactly what you would call stupid, either. I am well aware of your family's grudge against ours and I must confess, mine still resents yours. Kanna's eyes lowered to her lap, allowing a somewhat uncomfortable silence to consume her as she pondered over what was just stated. While her mind agreed that this 'family feud' was indeed pointless, another part of her, more selfish, argued that it wasn't her concern if both corporations were destroyed. "I..." Her facial expression looked almost troubled as her hands balled into fists. She didn't realize it would be so difficult to find the right words to say, and with Shippo's watching her quietly, thinking seemed five times harder to do since her mind would wander off to the other night. She sighed. "I have no objections to settling this feud however... My voice doesn't have such a strong impact on my family's decisions as I may wish it did."
