When the elevator opened once again, the secretary nodded for the young woman to go ahead. "Sorry, but I have to go back to the office so you'll have to go yourself. The conference room is straight down the hall-- you can't miss it."
"Thanks" Ayame said quietly as she made her way down the hall of doom. To think... Her grandfather and uncle had pulled a fast one on her without her even realizing it... Her eyes narrowed as her reading glasses fell to the tip of her nose but she paid no heed.
Those reddish brown curly locks gently swayed back and forth as she checked over her attire. Her skirt was fine and she checked to make sure her shirt was too. Unbuttoned at the collar but who cared? Not like she was really impressing anyone- right?
"This is it..." She said to herself practically in agony as her delicate hand clutched the door knob and pushed it open. Immediately she was greeted with many eyes landing on her as she gave a small sheepish smile.
Let all hell begin...

Miroku looked up with mild surprise; the woman who had just entered the room appeared to be as young - if not younger - than himself. Now ain't that amazing, he suppressed a snort, knowing his father would go shit over bricks after this meeting was over, about how she was already capable of being CEO at her age and he knew nothing.

Shifting uncomfortably under everybody's gaze, Ayame cleared her throat and sat down in the only other available seat next to the CEO of the company.
"I apologize about my grandfather and uncle being unable to come today..." She trailed off as her seagreen eyes hardened, her voice having a slight acidic tone to it, "They had other matters to take care of and they would like me to get... More acquainted with these kinds of meetings..."

Miroku felt a rather harsh jab in his side, though it was more like grating into his ribcage. His father glared at him in a brief glance, and to be sure, Miroku glared right back. Then he glared at this woman. Who did she think she was, feeding his dad this line of bullcrap? It'd only make things worse after everyone left...

Ayame caught the glare she had just received from the older man. Oh... so he wanted to be like that huh? When nobody was looking, her eyes would narrow at him as she sent a glare just as equally nasty.
Tapping her fingers quietly against the cool wooden surface of the table, she waited for the meeting to begin. Already she knew that when she was going to be.... forced to take over her grandfather's business, she was going to have one hellova miserable time dealing with things like this. And here all she wanted to do was sing...
Giving a small sigh, she closed her eyes and brought a hand up to her forehead as she listened to the other men drone on about some boring thing for advertising. Preventing herself from looking bored, she began to move a few papers around that she had brought with her until she noticed one particular pamphlet.
Her seagreen eyes quickly widened as she stuffed the other papers under this particular one and stared at it as the older men around her began to get into an arguement over something stupid none the less. Scanning the words, her lips quickly moved as she muttered what it said, not the least bit worried considering all the other men had now gathered to the other side of the room and were now flailing their arms madly.
"A dance... at the Hilton Heights... Semi-casual preferred; casual accepted... Singing... Dancing..." She finished mumbling fragments as her cheeks burned slightly with excitement. Maybe... Maybe she could meet that guy she had talked to for only a few moments one day as they waited on line to get into a restaurant. Smiling like this was one of the best things that could have happened to her, she placed the paper down and calmly looked over to the arguing men. "Maybe I will get to sing afterall..."

Miroku scowled darkly when catching the glare she had sent him in return but managed to quickly wipe his face of all emotion and lean back to try to listen to the hum-drum going on about him. Taking it was just another stupid and completely pointless argument, he allowed his eyes to wander back to the red-haired woman, who seemed to be perusing a pamphlet of some kind. Snorting quietly, he tapped his father on the shoulder, leaned over and whispered, "Bathroom..." in his ear, and upon recieving a sharp look but finally the go ahead, he quietly stood and swiftly left the room.

Ayame dully watched as the guy who sent her a glare left the room. "Lucky..." She mumbled, then looked over to the businessmen still arguing. Putting the paper away, she gave a sigh until she had heard her stomach rumble. Very unbusiness-like. With a blush, she looked over to one of the men and said meekly, "Do you have a cafeteria? I kinda missed breakfast this morning..." Upon receiving a curt nod, she quickly jumped up and all but ran out of the room.
When she was in the hallway, she looked around while walking past the elevator as she began to hum some mysterious tune to herself. "Cafeteria... Cafeteria... Where's the cafeteria..."

Miroku, who had just been coming around the corner, out from the bathroom at last (but by no means heading back to the conference room...) nearly bumped into her. He managed to hot-foot aside at the last minute, though it took him a few moments to regain his balance.

Ayame let out a surprised 'yip!' as she took a quick step backwards. "I'm so sorry!!" She all but gaspsed as she looked to see who it was she almost bumped into. Upon seeing that it was the boy who gave her that glare, she frowned.
"You..." She muttered but quickly spoke these next few words, not being the one who liked to apologize. "I'm terribly sorry about me glaring at your like that before. I don't know what came over me when I did that." To prove her point, she gave a slight bow as she spoke. Looking back up, she continued speaking before he could reply, "So if it's alright with you, I'd like to meet you under better circumstances-- I'm Ayame."

"Miroku," he responded, still getting over the brief wave of dizziness at having had to make such a sharp veer. "I'm Miroku..."
Reaching up to rub his eye, he added, "Sorry about before too...I was - still kinda am - in a fowl mood."

Ayame gave a slight nod of understanding. Sighing, she looked down the hall. "If it's alright with me asking... I presume your father is preparing you for taking his place in his company too?" She said 'too' referring to herself also.

"Yes..." Miroku made a face. "Not like I want to but...'Miroku, you must secure the family name!'"

"Then we have something in common..." She grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. "My grandfather and uncle give me the same crap... They even sent me to a hotel last night so they didn't have to deal with me arguing with them about not wanting to be CEO for the millionth time."

"Ugh..." he frowned, sympathetically. "Anyway, about the only good thing I can think of about becomming CEO is not having to cater to my priggish father's whims..." he concluded.

She nodded in agreement, "That and free donuts-- speaking of food... where's the cafeteria? Kinda skipped breakfast today and I'm dealing with the consequences unfortunately."
