The taiyoukai watched with interest as the miko approached the foreign girl; he spared brief thought to the many scenarios which all had equal chances of unfolding. However, his posture soon shifted to connote boredom, and his arm folded across his chest with distinct impatience.

Kikyou lowered her head and closed her eyes for a moment, searching for the right way to start. There was so much she had to say to those people... Kagome, Sesshoumaru...and Inuyasha. Of all the messages she was to deliver, that which was destined to the hanyou would surely be the more painful one, and he was likely to be unwilling to accept it.
"Inuyasha..." Her voice was finally heard as she brought her gaze upon the half-youkai. With some effort, he looked up at the priestess and remained silent, a cue for her to go on. "There's no need to hide it from me; your feelings towards Kagome were always very obvious..." She spared a weak smile at her reincarnation and looked up at the sky, heaving a sigh. "Hatred and death have led me blind once... but now that my body is filled with new life, it has become easier for me to see things clearly..."
Amber oculars widened considerably. Life? Was she trying to say she was alive once again..? Was that why he could no longer sense the sad scent of death and burial soil around her? "New life..? What do you mean, Kikyou..?" He decided to ask it out loud, hoping her answer would make things easier on his confused mind.
"What do I mean...?" She turned around to face him, her lips now curving upwards in a somewhat sly smile. "What I mean to say is that your father might have left you a great sword... but, in the end, it was your brother who got the most powerful blade."
Inuyasha's gaze shot towards the taiyoukai. Tenseiga. The name struck him as hard as a bolt of lightning. The other sword made with Inutaisho's fang, it indeed had the power to restore lives, but surely Sesshoumaru would never use it on Kikyou... or would he? "You've gotta be freakin' kidding me!" He spat, baring his fangs. "Why would you,of all people, help her?!"

He moved his smoldering orbs to meet InuYasha's gaze. His delicate features turned sour at his half-brother's words, looking rather as if he couldn't believe he was just asked that question. "You'd think," He drawled, at an infuriatingly slow pace. "You'd have figured it out by now. I seem to recall you demanding I stop treating you so condescendingly. That I 'come down off my high horse', as you... so eloquently put it. Yet why should I treat you with respect that you don't deserve, wretched half-breed? If you can't even piece it together after we've all but flat out told you, you fool... Then you're even more dim-witted than even I'd have believed."

"Cut the fucking crap, Sesshoumaru! I'm not that stupid as to not realize the reason why Kikyou is alive again! What I don't get..." He swang Tetsusaiga in one quick motion and pointed the now fang-shaped sword at his sibling. "...is what twisted plans you have for Kikyou, you bastard!"
A soft sighed welled forth. "I don't think your brother has any twisted plans for me, Inuyasha..." Kikyou inhaled deeply; the time to tell her once beloved hanyou about Sesshoumaru's true motives for bringing her back to life, and the reason why they were to leave those lingering feelings of theirs behind once and for all, had finally come. "He merely did what anyone in his position would have done... for someone they loved."
Inuyasha froze in his spot. He had heard it right, his sense of hearing was to keen to have misunderstood her words. "Heh..." He snorted and lowered his head, silver bangs shadowing his features. "...love you say, eh...?"
[... *glomps Inu* I can't keep doing this to him... ; ______ ;!!! Waaah!! ]

Kagome stiffened, every limp freezing in place. No amount of words could describe her current state of shock. Sesshoumaru and Kikyou: One of the least things she would have ever expected. What can a girl do to comfort the one just had his heart smashed to tiny bits and pieces? “Inu... Inuyasha...?” She uttered meekly. Crap, you can do better than that and you know it.

"Not that you should care, InuYasha," Sesshoumaru snarled. "Your pressing decision's been made for you." When she spoke, he moved his eyes to Kagome. "Silence, foolish girl! Or is it so imperative that you defend the one who's been using you like a common waif?"
He didn't quite know why he had the sudden urge to defend that silly little ningen girl in the peculiar clothes, but he suddenly turned back to InuYasha.
"Now you don't have to choose one over the other, do you? But I bet you liked that whole ordeal, brother of mine. I bet it made you feel powerful, didn't it? Knowing you held the hearts of two young women in your filthy claws like that...
"Funny, that, hanyou. How I'm the one made out to be the bastard, and yet..." He left his implications hanging.

Even more shocked at the taiyoukai's words, the girl clenched her fists. "Yes, yes it is," she suddenly spoke out. Her pissed expression tilted up. "Now listen you! Everything you just said was wrong!" She dabbed her index forward. "And I don't care how he treats me, however he does it, it can't be as disgusting as what you did!"
Kagome paid not a single heed at the possible consequences as each word was very sloppily spilled out. All her mind was fixed on one motive alone. "Inuyasha's already suffered enough, and can't you see that?! So you just leave him alone!!" Her breathing heavied as the last message was delivered out. Little bits of huffs and puffs drew from her lips, yet she was still not so completely satisfied.

Kikyou stared in awe at the taiyoukai, speechless. It was no surprise Sesshoumaru did not seem to care much about his little brother, but she never thought he could be this cruel and cold-hearted. If anything, she had believed he would, at least, have some consideration for her... And instead, he had just things a lot harder for the priestess.
Was that really the same man she had fallen in love with? Or just the beast within him...?
It was then that the other girl spoke in all her rage, something she was nearly glad her reincarnation had done. She defended the hanyou with such passion, and seemingly held no fear for the possible reaction she could get from the demon prince. Yes, it might be a little painful for her to admit, but... Inuyasha would be fine as long as that girl was by his side.
"Kagome..." She started with a genuine, if shy, smile, taking a step closer to that who had been her rival. "You really... do care a lot about him, don't you...?"

"Uh?" Her eyes widened just ever so slightly before they faced the grass once more. She felt the blood rush to her cheeks. "Yeah..." The voice was no higher than the squeakings of a baby mouse. "I suppose..."

Her smile widened at Kagome's reaction. "So you will never leave him, right? You will always remain by his side, like you have done until now...?" Her questions did not seem necessary for she already knew the answers, but she had to made sure the hanyou would have someone to comfort him when heartbreak fell upon him.

"I guess so..." The crimson shade in her cheeks deepened. Why all the questions? Why? The had dearly hoped that the subject hadn't heard anything, but with his sensitive ears... no chance.

Sesshoumaru had fallen strangely silent at the girl's outburst. Had it been anyone else, in any other situation... They would have died before they could shut their mouth. The look on his face was almost comical. Almost like one would expect to see on a little boy who just got told off for eating too many cookies.

Luckily for Kagome, Inuyasha wasn't really paying attention to their conversation. His body and mind had grown numb with Kikyou's words, yet they seemed to burn in fury at his brother's remark. That idiot was calling him a bastard for what? For caring so much for two women, enough as to make him scared of choosing one and breaking the other's heart...? Very well. Sesshoumaru was no saint either, and the sullen hanyou would make sure to unmask him should the need rise.
Bringing a pale hand to her lips, the woman in miko garments supressed a small, benevolent laugh. "You shall soon understand the reason behind my questions." She said in a soothing tone, as though she could read the girl's thoughts. "But first, answer me this: will you trust him no matter what, and not make the awful mistake I did in the past...?"

"...Yes." There she was again, back at the same position from when she had first arrived. Shy and silent. Her head kept low, not wishing to catch the eye of anyone.

"Good." This time she did laugh, but only so softly as to barely let anyone hear it. "Then I suppose you two will be fine." Her smile grew to its fullest extent and she lowered her head, both hands cupped over her chest. "Well, maybe we all will."
