The taiyoukai tensed; a feral growl was born in the bottom of his stomach, sounding all the more fearsome when it was released. His hand darted out, claws lengthening to some extent, glowing an acrid green.
In a single fluid motion, he leapt into the air. Coming down, it would seem as if he aimed to slice InuYasha in two. But in that marginally slim last moment, his hand extended past the hanyou's shoulder, crushing something which had been perched in the tree behind the half-breed.
Sesshoumaru eyed his claws with disgust. "It would seem," He began, flicking the impaled insect down to the ground where he proceeded to smash that hideous bee senseless. "Somebody else is interested in this conversation of ours."

(Now I'm kinda regretting staying out of this one. Fighting is what I'm good at in RP's.)

The miko eyed the sneaky Saimyoushou with great amount of disgust. "Naraku..." She nearly hissed under her breath, momentarily forgetting about the things she was to tell her companions.
"Keh." Inuyasha mumbled weakly, his numb stare still. focused pretty much on the ground. "I don't see why that bastard would want to overhear this... conversation. But I do know one thing..." He slid Tetsusaiga back into its scabbard and finally lifted his gaze to meet hers. "He's after you, Kikyou."

"Well, obviously," The taiyoukai muttered under his breath, barely loud enough to be heard as anything but a hum by even himself. As much as he enjoyed incensing the hanyou, he didn't think Kikyou would appreciate it too much right this moment. The last thing he needed was to her riled up at him.

"S-saimyoushou?" Kagome felt herself tense up at this. Hadn't Kikyou put up a barrier? Her expression morphed into something that showed both anticipation and an ounce of fear.

'Damn it.'Kikyou mentally cursed, her stare still focused on the poisonous insect that had managed to break into her barrier. 'My powers are gradually leaving me...' It was fifty years later, and yet, Tsubaki's curse, somehow, still seemed to have effects on the sorrowful miko. "Well, if this is the case, then I suppose we should hurry and go after him. However," She made a brief pause and eyed her own reincarnation and the hanyou. "this conversation is not over."
Inuyasha snorted. "Keh, I don't think there's anything else to talk about. You've pretty much said everything I can bear to hear in one day, anyway."Sparing one last, mournful look at the raven haired woman, he trudged towards the same path he had used to get there, head held somewhat low. "C'mon, Kagome, let's go back..."

"Right..." She trailed off. 'He's hurting...' With that, Kagome bit her lip. She slowly followed him in his steps, her pace gradually gaining speed. Should she have told Inuyasha about the missing taijiya to get his mind off of things? 'It would probably make him even more angsty.' She heaved a sigh.

Sesshoumaru graciously averted his eyes, piercing gaze everywhere but on his half-brother's retreating form. Funny, that he could spare some mild pity once his own station was secured. His eyes flashed with confusion. Not that he cared that the hanyou was hurt... Just... Bah. It was unexplainable. He folded his arms and let out a puff of impatience.

Inuyasha let his feet follow random paths, paying little to no attention to where they were headed; dealing with his recent findings was a highly straining task for him to take, and he wasn't sure he would be dealing with it very well. "So..." He finally started after a while, averting his gaze from the school girl as best as he could. "Where's everybody else...?"

Kikyou spared one last glance towards the general direction the hanyou and her own reincarnation had gone and sighed, hoping she hadn't caused her once-beloved too much pain. "It's done..." Came her soft whisper, just a second before she turned to Sesshoumaru, slight hints of coldness coming to her face. "We should leave as well. If that Saimyoshou was here, Naraku is probably lurking around."

"Right," He gave a swift nod, willowy frame swaying slightly as the breeze swept through.

The miko turned on her heels and made to leave, but decided to take a short pause so she could hold Sesshoumaru's hand. Yes, she was still somewhat upset with the taiyoukai for one of his previous remarks, but she could not bear to act indifferent towards him, not for long, anyway. Once their fingers had made contact, her hand gave his a gentle squeeze and she moved forth, away from the place that had witnessed one of the greatest decisions of her life.

Sesshoumaru's claws lightly grazed her palm when his hand shifted in her grasp, a faint and wispy feeling despite their deadly power. He returned the squeeze, though kept his gaze averted. His expression was one of thoughtful contemplation, and made him look more aristocratic and scholarly than ever.

Earth brown oculars traveled upwards and found the creatures her 'life' used to depend on: Shinidama Chuu. They had made an appearance earlier that day, and even though she had questioned their reasons back then, she no longer had any doubts about that.
They had come for her.
"Heh..." She let loose a sigh and lowered her head, a sad smile gracing her lips. "First Naraku and now you, little friends... It's my death you must be waiting for, isn't it..?"

"Disgusting creatures..." Sesshoumaru bit out, teeth barring in a sudden rage. "You would never let me before," He turned his eyes to her. "Let me now. Let me render those filthy serpents worthless..."
