"...Hai..." She nods faintly, her chocolate eyes staring blanking at nowhere in particular. "...What... happened... last night?"
(Don't get her question wrong, you people!! o.o; )

{Bah, that thought didn't even cross my mind til you mentioned it xD...}
"I'm not quite sure," Sesshoumaru mused. "For I was not there to witness what exactly happened to you...I suspect, however, that it had something to do with that accursed dwelling, for the moment I stepped back in to retreive you, I was feeling rather ill myself. I found you, collapsed, passed out, undoubtedly, so I brought you back here. You have lain resting in this bed ever-since..."
He paused, and then hesitantly, almost shyly, continued, "...I...I am...I am sorry...I should have sensed it earlier and insisted you came...Forgive...me..." the words were all foreign on his tongue, and came out all-together awkward, though they were clearly sincere.
It surprised even him.

Kikyou's eyes widen ever-so-slightly at that question, her ears believing to have been tricked by just one moment. It would not be such a big deal if it had come from anyone else, but with him, it was totally different.
"It's alright. It was not your fault." The miko whispers in a soft tone and slowly turns to face the silver-haired taiyoukai, giving him a very faint and shy, yet sincere smile.

His enrapturing amber orbs remained locked on her own mahogany ones for a moment longer, as if intensely probing her soul. Finally, he tore his eyes away and his slightly softened features hardened once more, returning back to the stoic, indifferent mask her normally wore. "Well then," his speech was fluid and unhindered. "I am heading down to prepare Rin something to eat. Mayhap you should want something as well?"

The miko looks downwards, her eyes once again overflowing with the sorrow she had grown so used to. "I do not have use for food..." Her voice sounds ragged and melancholic, yet it somehow managed not to stray from its usual serenity.

{WAFF alert } Sesshoumaru heard a pair of irritatingly familiar footsteps clodding down the corridor. Jaken. It had been such a long time since he'd given the toad a scare...And now with the miko, a dreaded 'human', he had the perfect means... Sesshoumaru retreated to her bedside and squatted down beside it. Tenderly, almost lovingly, he placed the back of his clawed hand to her cheek. "Ah...How remarkably stupid of me to forget such a thing...Once more, I must beg for your forgiveness..." The door to Sesshoumaru's room swung open and the beady-eyed youkai peered in. Of course, he had no clue Kikyou was here in the first place, let alone lounging in his master's bed, so this alone gave him quite a shock. Seeing his gentle minstrations performed on the miko nearly gave him a heart attack. Needless to say, he fled the room quickly, the door swinging back and forth, muttering profanities and curses and grossed out noises under his breath. Sesshoumaru had meant to chuckle heartilly after this, and pull away, as if nothing of any significance at all had happened, but he found himself staring at his hand, still to her cheek, his mouth parted to form a small 'o'. He pulled away abruptly, drawing himself in to his impenitrible wall that is Sesshoumaru once more. "Well then, I must get going..." and he quickly made his exit. Little did he know how much torment that intended joke would bring his wretchedly cold heart in the future.

This time, the misfortunate miko's eyes widen as much as it's physically possible. Why was he doing that...? Was that some kind of cruel joke? She feels so weak already, she certainly does not need to be poked fun at.
"...Alright." She retreats as soon as their skin contact is broken, turning over and clutching the covers tightly.

Sesshoumaru stood in the middle of the kitchen, hand clenched, claws digging into his palm, drawing blood. He didn't have feelings for a human...He DIDN'T...
Slamming that clenched fist down, he left a trail of blood on the table and went to find Jaken. Perhaps he would make Rin something to eat. The taiyoukai found himself too distracted to do much cooking.

Kikyou stares blankly at the window right before her, embracing herself as her body shiver ever-so-slightly. What was wrong with her? Why did his mere touch affect her so much? It could not be... No, certainly not... or could it?
Shaking her head viciously and shutting her confused eyes closed, she presses both pale hands over her pained chest. This time, however, it doesn't hurt for the same reasons as the previous night's; this time, it hurt because of a cruel feeling that she had thought as lost forever.

He sat slumped in his study, pouring over several texts. He had not been reading but five minutes and already his pretty eyes were drooping; he had, in truth, stayed up all night to watch over the miko. And believe it or not, taiyoukai's needed their sleep. Finally, his head collapsed down on the desk-top, and his eyes drifted close.

The shrine maiden stares intently at the pleasant view outside, wishing that the sun would set sometime soon. She felt weaker every passing second, but her Shinidama-Chuu would not come until stars could be spot on the skies.
Right now, however, there was not much she could do. And even after having her serpent-like demons bring her more souls, she had a feeling that bothering weight on her chest would not cease; it would remain there until she could get herself out of such emotional whirlwind she had been stuck on lately.
The question was... would she ever?

By the time he awoke it was nearly evening. Groggily, he headed upstairs to speak with Rin. He conversed for a few moments with the child, but soon she fell back asleep. He slipped out of her room and downstairs, preparing to go outside and meditate under the moon. There was nothing else he could do anyway, so he might as well attempt to calm his nerves.

"It's time..." The miko whispers, relieved to see that night had finally come.
Once again using her bow for support, she trudges her way down the long stairs and heads to the cold, gloomy forest outside that castle, where she could meet her soul-bringers without the risk of being spotted by Rin and most likely causing her to be scared.
Having walked some distance into the forest, she moves her head up and calls for her Shinidama-Chuu with a silent cry.

Sesshoumaru had seen her disappear into the forest, and he knew why, for he had secretly observed this on-going several times before. He was amazed it hadn't hit him earlier (in fact, he realized, he should have done it when she was asleep or fainted), but he was going to stop the madness upon her return.

One more night stealing souls... One more night having to endure their sorrowful, anguished screams in her mind... One more night she wishes she could erase from her memory...
Casting one last glance at her departing Shinidama-Chuu, the saddened beauty makes her way back to the castle, hoping that no one would notice her furtive escapings, especially the lovely Rin-chan.
She could not bare to see another child running away from her in fear... Not again...
