Miroku paused in his train of thought to glance in his inquirer's direction. "You know, Lady Kagome, I was just thinking of that...I do detect a malevolent force in these parts. Perhaps it would be prudent to relocate, but I am not sure how well you, Inu-Yasha, will take to our request, for you seem adamant on locating the miasma's source,"

Kikyou nods in agreement, resuming her trek afterwards. The more they approach the hut, the more she feels her powers being drained from her cold body, and the dark aura around the place growing dangerously bigger with every step they take. Finally, they reach the entrance door and, as soon as the miko tries to make her way inside the dwelling, a swift gust of hair blows strongly against her face, nearly causing her to lose her balance.
'Something... or someone... has just escaped...' Her narrow eyes glance back, staring at nothing in particular, then she walks inside, being followed by the silver-haired taiyoukai.
(Okay, this is getting boring... But we can make good use of the old hut and the rain outside...o.o)

Sesshoumaru followed her into the hut, extremely tense and on his toes. Something was not right. He knew that from the beginning, but now that they were actually in there, something was really not right. He too, had felt a prescence escaping, though unfortunately, the creepy aura in the dwelling had not ceased to be. If anything, it was stronger, and to make things worse, it had started to rain again.
Sesshoumaru wandered over and crouched by a crudely carved niche in the wall that he assumed was a fireplace. There were years of cobwebs and decrepid, dead leaves inside, so he figured it had not been used in ages. He frowned as he noticed that he had not even been in there two minutes and already dust was beginning to collect on his fluff. Standing up, he walked over to the hut's lone window and traced a claw along the grimy glass. As expected, it did not clear.
Turning to seek Kikyou with his eyes, he caught her gaze and made a very out-of-character face, looking utterly disgusted with the place.

Rather amused with Sesshoumaru's unusual expression, Kikyou returns his glance and nods, acknowledging that she also was not pleased with that place, even though her reasons for being so went further than the dirt and dust all over the place; she felt annoyed and disgusted, yes, but because of the malign aura floating upon them.
"Well..." She starts, looking out the misty window. "We will not have to stay here much longer, for Rin isn't here...Although..." Her pools move up, staring at the thunderstorm forming outside. Lightning crossed the dark skies in a menacing way, as the chilling wind sounded like a howl, sweeping off anything that dared to stand in its way. "...it wouldn't be wise to go under under such weather conditions..."

Sesshoumaru's expression turned grim. "Then what course of action do you suggest we take?" he inquired. "I myself know not what to say. If it were me, I would go out, but I also have your well-being to take into consideration, and it doesn't seem like you'd want to stay here -even I am not sure if I wish for you to remain here, in this dreadfully awful place - despite your condition..."

"Then go." The miko abruptly turns away, her face hiding behind shadows. "I am not the one whose well-being you be worried about now. Besides, I'm only keping you behind...and I don't believe you will be finding much use for my powers from now on, let alone my company."

Sesshoumaru sighed. "Very well," he murmured, almost sadly, as he moved to the door. "...Take care?" he offered regretfully, opening the heavy wooden door up, and taking a step outside, casting her one last, laden look over his shoulder before slamming it shut behind him. Not even 5 feet and a brick wall seperated them, but already, he was worried. Rin's safety, at the time being, was the most important, however, so reluctantly, he trudged forward, gradually increasing to alarming speeds.

The miko makes a faint gesture that could only be described as a nod, turning back to the empty, dark room she was standing at. As soon as she hears the door being slammed behind her, she falls to the her knees, her artificial body feeling heavier every second.
'What's happening...?' She flutters her eyes half-closed, cupping one hand over her chest. 'This place is taking up all of my energy... if it keeps this way...' Kikyou runs one finger on the damp floor then brings it close to her eyes, staring at the small amount of dust she had just picked up.
'...this body will be reduced to this...'

Sesshoumaru was surprised to stumble across a passed-out Rin underneath a large oak tree. At first he thought that perhaps it was a trap, but the closer he got, the more he realized it was the real child. She had a large cut on her head, and blood was oozing down the side. Frowning, he delicately picked up the child and sped off back towards the hut. Perhaps the miko could use her powers.
Throwing open the door, standing in the frame, he was surprised to spot the miko on her knees. "Miko-sama?"

Kikyou could not manage to voice a reply. She was using whatever energy she had left to try and fight the evil forces sucking up her powers, with one pale hand over her pained chest and and the other one clutching weakly to the ground.
'Why... Why did he return here...?' She shuts her eyes closed, the pain now spreading to the rest of her lifeless body. 'It might be dangerous for them to stay here... Go away...'
With those concerning thoughts boiling on her mind, she collapses, laying unconscious on the floor.

Sesshoumaru frowned. He, despite being an immensely powerful taiyoukai, was beginning to feel more than a bit ill even after standing there for just a few moments. Shifting his position so Rin was now tucked under his arm, he quickly darted forward and hoisted the miko over his opposite shoulder, fleeing the dwelling posthaste.
He ran through many glens, groves and forests and leapt over many brooks, streams, and rivers, but he finally made it back to his castle. First he headed up, and laid Rin down in her bed. He instructed Jaken, who had mysteriously returned, to begin to banadge hr head-wound as he took Kikyou to his own bedroom [grow up you perverts --()], since he had no spare, and he was most definately not leaving her in Jaken's room. He inwardly cringed at the thought.
Pulling back the covers on his overly large bed, he gently laid her down and pulled them back up. He fluffed his pillow and slid it under her head, and stood back, hand on hip, to watch her with a scrutinizing eye. He did not know why he was doing a possible waste of his time, for it was unlikely that he would ever require the miko's assisatance again, and therefor did not require her to 'live', but if ever there was a feeling of guilt in his cold frame, it was now. After all, she had given her all to help him find Rin, and had she not been there when he broke through the barrier, he would have certainly perished.
Sighing, he turned around and left the room, heading down the hall to check on Rin.

It was only a few minutes past dawning when the weakened miko woke up. Her head hurt, her chest was sore and she had barely no memory of the previous night's events. The last couple things she could recall was the silver-haired youkai's deep voice coming from behind her and her own, fragile body collapsing to the ground.
She flutters her eyes slowly, landing them on the beautiful setting outside the window; the sun's intense rays enveloped every little creature in a warm embrace, as they rejoiced in that delightful sensation. After browsing briefly through the room, Kikyou's eyes widen in surprise; where was she? Wherever that was, at least she did not feel her powers vanishing away anymore, and that alone was reason enough for her to sigh in relief.

"So you've finally awakened, miko?" a cool voice emanated from the only corner the miko did not crane her neck to search. Sesshoumaru stood, one leg tucked under/behind him with that foot on the wall, arms crossed, one eye open, the other closed. Apparently he had stood there all night. Not only because it was his bedroom, but because he felt the compelling need to watch over her and make sure she was alright.

Barely changing her emotionless expression, in spite of her amazement to be resting at what could only be Sesshoumaru's bedroom, Kikyou curls up on the bed, pulling the neatly arranged covers closer to her. "...Where's... Rin...?"

Sesshoumaru made no move to change positions anytime soon. "She's resting. In her bedroom," is all he offered in response. "...Daijobu?"
